Constantly feeling stressed out or anxious? We feel you. 😕
Everyday life was already hard enough before we started living through major historical events every month, so it's completely understandable that your anxiety levels have been higher lately.
The good news is, however, that you can help manage your stress with easy actions, that don't require a lot of time and effort. Of course, if you have the resources to do so, we strongly suggest going to therapy so you can start unraveling your feelings. But in the meantime, you can manage your stress by:
Lowering your caffeine intake
People with chronic stress often suffer from adrenal fatigue, which makes them extremely tired and usually dependent on caffeine to get through the day. It’s a vicious cycle: the caffeine wears off and they’re exhausted again. ☕ Caffeine can also raise cortisol levels and it doesn’t address the root of the problem, so it does more harm than good.
These are great for quickly calming yourself down, lowering your heart rate, and relaxing - no matter where you are. They're also a great introduction to meditation, which is also an excellent way of lowering your stress levels. 💆♀️
Better sleep hygiene
Getting a good night of sleep not only helps you feel energized the next day but can also lower your cortisol levels - the chemical that makes you stressed out or anxious.
Incorporating all three into your daily routine will help you live a more mindful and peaceful life, which will long-term help you feel less stressed without you having to actively fight off anxiety.
